About Energeia Psychology
Coined by Aristotle, Energeia means the actualisation of potential.
Why Energeia?
As a Gen-X, late-identified gifted Autistic (2e) systemiser, my professional focus is through a BioPsychoSocial lens. I bridge the gap between the medical model I was trained in and the lived experience I carry in my bones. I don't subscribe to an "acceptance" model where living in permanent distress is a given. Instead, I focus on:
The MindBody Connection: Trying to "talk your way out" of a dysregulated nervous system is not always the first point of action. Collect your physiological data points (track sleep, breathing, eating, movement, grounding etc) to make more effective and efficient decisions and buttress energy to show up in your Life, now and long term.
Energy Management: Moving you from the "sympathetic drag" of hypervigilance into stable, felt safety. Flourish.
Radical Agency: Providing the neuroscience tools, awareness, and self-compassion needed so that life finally works for you, rather than against you.

A Note on How I Work…
In order to provide the highest level of focus and clinical energy to my clients, I do not offer introductory calls. I have designed this website to provide all the information you need to decide if we are a good fit.
Let me be clear, I don’t work with all people. My work is specifically focused on the dire lack of psychological support for late diagnosed internalised presentations, those who self-identify, and those wondering if they might be. There is significantly more variation amongst Autistics than there is amongst neurotypicals, so let's consider that for a moment.
“If you’ve met one Autistic person you’ve met one Autistic person.” - Dr Stephen Mark Shore
Therefore, I am currently not working with children, parents or schools, nor NDIS-managed clients. These are worthy cohorts, however I cannot be all things to all people at once. I see adult males, females, and everyone in between.
While many Autistic individuals present with eating disorders, trans identity, Borderline Personality Disorder, and/or significant addiction, that focus is outside my scope of practice. Shard care or referring is a factor worth considering.
